I am finally back in FLA. I decided to catch an earlier flight because the weather was looking pretty bad up there and I didn't want to get stuck. Of course my man won the election, but I was kind of suprised and disappointed that Kerry won again. I guess Nov. will tell who Bush is going to beat :) Yesterday was really exciting being that it was election day. I have never seen such a spectacle in my life. Ashley and I stood outside of a polling precinct with out Bush/Cheney signs encouraging people to go in and vote for him. We took a lot of flack from the Dems who were all over oustide, but it was still a lot of fun. I can honestly say that I made some friends out there. Also, we we filmed for a Boston T.V. station and a Washington D.C. radio station interviewed me. There was so much press it was unbelievable. You would walk down the street and see all kinds of famous people. Julie, who is documenting out class, interviewed me and then she and I went to go interview other people at the different polling places. While we were driving we saw this guy with a boot on his head who was running for President. He would like to invest in time travel so he can go back in time and strangle the baby Hitler. This guy was hilarious and just one of the many interesting people making a run for the Whitehouse. Chris P. Carrot was also running and walked around town for days in a carrot suit. Like I said, I've never seen anything like this before. I have already started planning on going back in 4 years. I am so very glad that I went on this trip just simply for the time that I had. Like the Bush stickers said... "Reason for Freezin," and I truly believe it. Talk to y'all later...
M

Good Morning!!! I don't have much time to write today, so I will make it quick. On Sun we had a rally with NY Gov. George Pataki whom I got to meet, along with the Gov. of Mass. and a ton of Senators. We had a great time! Yesterday, we went to a rally with Sen. John McCain who is a wonderful speaker. I was directing traffic in the hall when Drew Barrymore walked about 2 feet away from me! I wish I had my camera at the time, but I don't want to be that annoying person. I also got to meet Sen. McCain. I gotta run now... it's election day... I am sorry that I haven't written in a few days but it has been pretty insane around here and we have been working around the clock trying to get things organized. The campaign is going well and this past weekend we were involved in GOTV (get out the vote) activities which we get to coordinate. We are considered staff, really cool, and we get to take part in activities that are not for volunteers. Also, I have been offered an internship in D.C. this summer!!!!! I am meeting such great people and most of them are from Arlington or D.C. and work directly for the President. I don't get to meet Bush but one of the girls we are working with, Jen, works for the Dept. of Energy and said she will get his book autographed for us and mail them to us. I'm happy with that. The best thing that has happened to me so far is I got to meet and get my picture with Rudy Guiliani! Maria, from our campaign, took us to Blake's Diner where Guiliani was going to be having lunch and when he walked in he shook my hand and asked me to take a picture with him! The best part is, I was the only person in the diner he did that too! I feel special! This trip has been truly amazing and an experience I will never forget, plus a whole new world of opportunities for me. Ok... it's time to ge eat breakfast now. I will try to write again before I leave... talk to y'all soon...
M

Greetings from the Bush Campaign in Manchester, NH!!!!! This means we finally moved into the Manch office. It is really nice and large in a beautiful old building; this city is gorgeous. I feel like we have stepped it up today and are getting somewhat of a taste of the campaign process. Mike, Ashley, and I worked this afternoon handing out flyers for the rally with RUDY GULIANI this Saturday afternoon. I'm psyched about it because we get to go as well and listen to him speak. Now we are making some calls and later we are preparing lit packets for the GOTV (get out the vote) weekend. Also, we have been told that we will be in charge of organizational stuff this weekend instead of having to go out in the freezing cold all day... total compliment! The Democratic debates are going on tonight and most of our class is partying with their campaigns, because their candidates are all taking part in the madness. We won't be watching it, but one of the girls from our office went over there, so we will get an update tonight on how it went.
Earlier today we all packed up and drove to Durham, NH to the University of New Hampshire to listen to Prof. Andrew Smith speak about the polling process. It was really cool and very informative to hear about the way that the random dial people and ask specific questions. He also provided insight on the 2004 primary race an how each candidate was statistically doing... it was a peaceful hour with absolutely NO Bush bashing whatsoever. I LOVED IT!!!!! I need to head out now and finish my work... talk to y'all tomorrow...
M-

Hello everyone! I am writing you from inside the New Hampshire Republican State Committee Headquarters where I have been working for the Bush campaign. Today was pretty exciting! This morning we had breakfast with the NH State Dem Chair Kathy Sullivan at the Merrimack Restuarant in Manchester. The food was great and CNN was outside where we watched a British reporter for CNN International do a broadcast. That was very interesting to watch. After we stuffed out faces, it was time to head out to the campaigns. I am really happy so far with the people I am working with here. Everyone is so friendly and always willing to help out! I'm about to head out in a few minutes to head back to the hotel to rest... Tomorrow I am going to try and go to the debate in Manchester, I've heard its quite interesting :) Regardless, there will be plenty to do tomorrow preparing for this weekend... I'll let you know how my day goes tomorrow...
Oh yeah, they desperatly need heat lamps up here!!!!!
Night!

Hi all! I know it's been a few days, but we have been pretty busy here. The flight was great and it's a bit chilly here but we are all ready to work. I started on the Bush campaign today :) making phone calls. The headquarters is in Concord right across the street from the State building. I like it here, it reminds me of Omaha with old brick buildings and a riverside city. It's nice, but I feel a bit homesick. So far, I think everyone is happy with the way things are going. I'm worn out though, had to get up at 5:30 am to go stand out in the cold. I will try to get better about writing in this on a daily basis....
Until next time...

I was reading everyone else's journals tonight and I am so impressed! I think this class is great because at the very least, we can all agree to disagree. I'm one of the only people who is not concerned about whether my candidate will win in the primary election or not, but I'll still give him the "Vote for the Re-election of Bush!" plug anyway. I support Bush in just about all of his ideals as a President and I will do anything to prevent the election of any of the Dem's. Guys, I think your party is too divided to stand on its own... and you are too busy tearing each other to shreads, not good. Oh well, it's not any of my concern, the only thing I see uniting the Dem party is the universal hatred for Bush, most likely due to the sore loser syndrome of the last election. I'm sorry that this has a sort of cynical tone, but frankly I'm tired of hearing it. I wish every candidate the best of luck, their gonna need it...
Talk to y'all soon!!!!

Hey all! T-minus 3 days 'till we go! I know that I sent this link to family and friends, so this is for you all, since I know that most of you are excited that I'm working for Bush. I think this will be a very successful election year and I am so happy that I can say that I was a part of the action. What would really be cool is if I get to meet him, but I am not so sure that is going to happen... although... who knows? If I do you can bet I am going to get lots of pictures.
I'll give you all an idea of what I will be doing in NH for the ten days I will be there. Apparently, we are going to be working... LOTS! Each of the 22 students enrolled in the class will be working for the candidate of their choosing doing grassroots campaigning. We will be making phone calls, holding signs, hopefully participating in GOTV (get out the vote) activities, and lots more. This will be quite the experience for all of us and will look really good on a resume. I feel very fortunate that I have this opportunity for some "real world" experience, who knows this may come in handy in my future adventures. Well... thats about all for now, but I will keep you posted each day...
See Ya!
Meagan

Cool... it works! I will keep eveyone posted on how Mr. President is doing!

Talk to y'all soon!
Meg

testing... not sure that this is working
